If you’re reading this then we’re pretty sure you care about your impact on the planet and we want you to know that this is important to us as well. Sustainability plays a key part in the choices we make and the way we work here at Lulabee. 

We know we’re not perfect and we’re always looking at ways we can improve and continue to reduce the environmental impact of our business. Here are some of the ways we are already prioritising sustainability in the way we run and the choices we make. 

FSC CERTIFIED & HANDMADE PAPERS

All of our stationery is printed onto papers from an FSC certified supplier, meaning that the materials are responsibly sourced. We choose papers that are chlorine and plastic-free, and fully recyclable. 

Another material we use to create stationery is handmade paper. Handmade paper is completely wood-free and made from cotton waste as well as waste biomass materials such as grass, jute and wool. The process is chemical free and done entirely by hand. 

UP-CYCLED AND RECLAIMED PROPS & MATERIALS

Many of the items we use for styling weddings and creating displays are reclaimed and repurposed, such as wooden crates and pallets, large furniture items, vases, baskets and old vintage books. Props used to style weddings are used numerous times and are mostly made from sustainable materials such as glass, metal and wood. Single-use and plastic items are avoided where possible.

PACKAGING

All orders sent to customers in the post are packaged in recyclable cardboard boxes, with recyclable and compostable tissues paper, and stickers made using recycled material. If bubble wrap is required to secure delicate items or provide protection to items, this is always reused from parcels we have received. Where possible, cardboard boxes in good condition are also re-used when sending out orders. 

OUR DAY-TO-DAY CHOICES

At Lulabee, we manage our own waste responsibly, making sure to recycle all waste through home recycling. Lulabee has also recently moved to an electric van, reducing the carbon footprint of our journeys to and from weddings.
